This November, I spent time with acoustic folk band Tripping Lily. This amazing quartet lives right here on Cape Cod, but can also be found playing around Boston, New York City and beyond.
As luck would have it, I was just thinking about how I’d love to shoot a band sometime, when I met singer Monica at our local eco-conscious clothing boutique, SHIFT. I had seen Tripping Lily play a couple of times before, but it was pretty cool to spend an afternoon getting to know the fun personalities of the whole group! (Monica’s dress and coat are from SHIFT too)
Yes, I don’t typically focus on studio photography, but I do have the gear!
I’m always happy to get different color backdrops for a “photo booth” setup at a wedding, or just to grab some fun, modern photos for any occasion. As a thank you for this session, the band actually surprised me with the deep purple backdrop I had been lusting after – so fun! (we actually share an intense love for the UPS truck pulling up to our homes, so it really didn’t matter what package they sent)
These guys have so much fun together… they also own West Bend Music Studios in Dennis, MA.
We were just next door to some old train cars from the Cape Cod Railroad. I loved the overall vibe this gave us as the sun was going down.
Huge thanks to Monica, Demetri, Alex and Laird for coming out on a chilly afternoon and making these photos so much fun! I can’t wait to see what you do with them!
These are great! I love the ones with the white background! :)
