Laura and Dean have an amazing story, straight out of the movies.
Laura is a Texas native, and Dean moved to Austin from Massachusetts 15 years ago. I asked him what brought him to Texas and he immediately responded “Laura”, even though they had yet to meet for over ten years more.
As legend has it, Dean saw Laura one night while he was out with the guys and she was out with a girlfriend. He didn’t muster up the courage to say hi to her that night, and kicked himself for it through the entire next day. That very night, by some crazy chance, Dean saw Laura again. He didn’t let this chance pass him by, and quickly ran after her (did he run? I’m not sure he ran, but it sure sounds heart-poundingly good, right?). The rest is blissful history and brought them to this beautiful Nantucket wedding weekend in June.
I’m going to share their wedding day in two parts, because Laura and Dean chose two equally stunning locations for their wedding festivities. The ceremony took place on the Zen Deck of The Wauwinet. As with any fretful rain-maybe sun-no rain-definitely wind type of day, the skies gave us the most brilliant lighting to work with for their evening ceremony. There was no wind to speak of, and not a drop of rain.
The Wauwinet’s Zen Deck makes a for a perfectly beachy wedding backdrop, surrounded by sand but standing on solid ground.
We stuck around for more photos and canoodling while the rest of the guests set off for cocktails at the Chanticleer in Siasconset.
Laura, you are so beautiful and elegant in a wedding gown. Dean, you’re quite the catch yourself!
Then we hopped into the Green Willy… a little romantic time with, ya know, a photographer and her camera facing you ;-)
Stay tuned for photos around Sankaty Light, ‘Sconset and the Chanticleer reception!
