I’ve been photographing all over Vermont this summer, and it just seems so perfectly suited for a wedding – as romantic as it gets! Rain or shine, mountain or lake (usually both)… The barns, fences, and long gaping fields just ooze LOVE to me! Maybe because I too fell in love in Vermont, and I got married among the same Green Mountains. Whatever it is, Amanda and Gregg’s incredible May celebration was right up there on top!

I captured their engagement photos near Amanda & Gregg’s snowy home town in Jackson, New Hampshire, but they chose Chittenden, Vermont’s Mountain Top Inn & Resort for their lovely spring nuptials. All of their friends and family enjoyed the little getaway to this fantastic property, and I loved capturing it all weekend, from welcome party to dance floor!

Amanda arrived by horse-drawn carriage and it was pure magic.

We ordered up a gorgeous sunset for Amanda and Gregg, just in time! But truthfully, I’m not sure we could have gone wrong with anything the Mountain Top Inn and Vermont’s Green Mountains chose to give us this day. The backdrop was amazing at every turn.vermont--mountain-top-wedding-9vermont wedding at mountain top inn

It was such a joy to photograph around the horse stables on the Mountain Top’s property, and the reception barn was new to me on this visit as well. The dark wood exterior was spectacular, and these guys certainly filled the space with gorgeous special touches that made the day truly their own. We even tucked into a corner for some photo booth fun!

I went into this weekend feeling like long friends of Amanda and Gregg, and I couldn’t have been more honored with the trust and thoughtfulness they shared with me. I also had such a blast working alongside one of my bestest pals, filmmaker Meg Simone!

Meg Simonee - Ahhhhh :) LOVING this Stacey!! So fun to relive the weekend all over again :) You are right, no shortage of stunning backdrops for these guys, especially during that first look – WOW. Loved the property, the people, and the energy from this crew! Non-stop fun! Great to work with you as always :)

I was admittedly horrible about blogging weddings and sessions all through the past year. Truth be told, I just needed less time staring at a computer and more time out there being with YOU on the beaches, in the mountains, and traveling to some pretty cool places! But I promise I’m still here and ready to get moving on another great season ahead! There are still so many wonderful memories I want to share here. So many songs on the radio that send me back to a special celebration day. And even more special, I consider each and every one of my clients now great friends!

Two among them are Courtney and Hanns! These guys planned a truly thoughtful wedding at their family home in Falmouth – all the way from the San Francisco Bay area! With the help of Jamie from Cape Cod Celebrations of course! It’s always such a special thing to capture photos at a “venue” that holds a little extra meaning or history (or future!) for the happy couple, and this location took me to one of the most beautiful Cape Cod areas I’ve ever seen!

private-home-cape-cod-wedding-016Courtney’s high school Spanish teacher and mentor, Christina, was an amazing celebrant for their wedding ceremony! I’ve also always loved Brick Kiln Farm, and they did an outstanding job at fitting in or even setting the tone for the day.

I positively love this adventurous couple, and enjoy following Courtney and Hanns’ – and they’re dog! – via Instagram in San Francisco! It’s pretty cool to be part of such an important day in someone’s life and have wedding clients I feel like I could (and will) pounce in on when I next travel to their area! Congratulations to you both on a wonderful life you’ve created together, Courtney and Hanns!

Anna and Matt are two of the most adorable people I might get to photograph in 2015! They share a sweet love story that culminates in a wedding day celebration on their private family property in Sandwich, MA this coming May 30th, and it couldn’t have been more perfect than to meet them in the snow this winter around the same property! You know I LOVE winter photos in the snow!

We explored downtown Sandwich for some fun starting photos, and then found our way out to Great Marsh. While we all love the Sandwich Boardwalk nearby, we stopped just short of capturing the “typical” photos for the area and kept exploring on our own instead. I love that we found some unique spots I’d never photographed before – just a smidge away from where I always photograph! engaged in sandwich on cape cod

One of my favorite parts about engagement sessions is the ability to socialize a bit and get to know each other before THE DAY. And that we did! Anna, Matt & I chatted throughout the entire session, and I learned that they had some special ties back to The Daniel Webster Inn on Main Street in Sandwich. We decided to close our time with a little cocktail in the cozy, historic pub!

I had the EXTREME honor of photographing this South Africa wedding with one of my closest pals, Alicia Swedenborg! Admittedly, this was a little while back, but I wanted to give her the chance to share and publish this wedding first. You’ll find other posts from our adventure at these links:

But today I’m excited to share these wedding portraits of Candice and Justin! We photographed their wedding in the town of Nottingham Road, and then continued our journey up to the Drakensberg Mountains for photos in their wedding dress and suit & tie!

These two are the absolute sweetest, and were so welcoming of Alicia and I on their journey. It was lovely to witness different cultures and traditions, but also to capture the same beautiful love that brings couples together around the world!

Even a little splashing in the water? Heck yes – for the photos of course!

Candice and Justin, your wedding day (and week) is one that will always remain at the very top of my memories and day-dreams! It was an absolute pleasure to get to know you both, and your country! I wish you all the very best in this lifetime together!

And Alicia, my dear friend, I thank you for sharing this once-in-a-lifetime trip with me. We have travelled to some of the craziest, coolest weddings together – photographed in snowstorms, apple orchards, Sonoma vineyards and the Indian Ocean together. I can’t wait to see where our friendship goes next!
