Farewell to a beautiful October! I feel like it was such a long month, in a good way :-)
As I look at this and other months, it’s kinda cool that these colors match a very “October” feel. Here are some of the great highlights of our month – hope yours was great too!
Keeping the anchor strong, thanks to an overnight visit (and awesome gift) from Becca! I did suffer three attempts by my swollen glands this month, each fought off with bourbon and lots of garlic. In the end, though, I had to actually rely on some cold medication in time for the Cape Cod Marathon with my relay team!
Our Canadian friends Julie & Adam came for a nice long visit! We played tourist in Boston for 24 hours, so much fun, and they enjoyed trips to Nantucket and Provincetown during the week too! I wish they could stay (along with some of their Banff mountains) forever. Hope you had a Happy Halloween night, and that you weren’t carving emergency jack-o-lanterns like us to try and draw more kids to our door ;-) And FINALLY, after more than six weeks healing from a broken leg, our puppy Cajun got the go-ahead to play and walk yesterday!
Even keeping Cajun quiet, we were able to escape up to the family cabin on Lake Winnipesaukee for a bit of warm fire and fall foliage – thanks Kate and Andrew! Then one last house-guest for the year named Sandy – just a small story on Cape Cod, but we’re keeping our thoughts with those of you who were affected much more directly. Lastly, working with Jacin for my final October wedding meant a full car full of extra flowers to play with! I made about six different bouquets, thanks friend!
We still have candy in the jar and two more weddings before the holiday season, including a destination wedding in New Orleans! Have a wonderful November!
