After all the weddings and engagement sessions had wrapped for the season, I was soooo excited to have a photo walk with my very own parents!
I highly encourage you to capture everyday photos at any point in your life. It doesn’t have to be for your save-the-dates or birth announcements – it can also just be at this particular moment in time. A celebration of who you are RIGHT NOW: tired, graying, or in the best shape of your life. Photos of yourself, photos with your best friend, or photos of your parents or grandparents. And I know it’s easy for me to say because I don’t have children and don’t actually photograph children, but I would looove to see young parents sneak away for a bit and celebrate this beautiful time in their marriage. Point the camera on yourselves, cause you’re pretty amazing too.
Anyway, I didn’t get my parents out so they could be the subject of such sappiness. I wanted photos of them. Current, happy-in-young-retirement-life photos of them. My parents are pretty darn cute together :-)
So here they are, my mom, dad, and uh… brother Rigley. Hope you enjoy!
All taken with the Canon 1V 35mm camera. Top three photos on Fuji Pro 400H, remaining photos on Kodak Portra 400 and 800.
These are great Stacey! I was thinking of doing the same thing with my parents over Thanksgiving! :)
Awww these are so cute! How come you don’t photograph children?
Thanks ladies! Jennifer, definitely do it, and I can’t wait to see :-) Amanda, I’ve never had a strong connection to children, and that connection makes all the difference in photos. I feel you guys are better served when I recommend friends who are the absolute best in capturing their spirit!
Aww these photos just melted my heart! So sweet and I LOVE how happy they are! :)
Really wonderful pictures of Diane and Austin, Stacey! You’ve captured them beautifully, allowing their personalities to shine through perfectly! Great job!
