What do we photographers do for fun?
I have made some of my greatest friends in the last few years of being in this incredible industry. I speak almost every day with a close group of fellow photographers, film makers, floral designers, event coordinators and stationers. We share ideas, we laugh, we trade equipment, we brainstorm, we back each other up, and we let off steam.
I’m amazed at the lack of competitiveness among photographers, at least in our younger generation. Sure, we count on each other for referrals, but it goes far beyond that. We are friends!
Here is another awesome video from Meg Simone Wedding Films… showcasing our recent Bretton Woods canopy tour with Meg, Brea McDonald, Samantha Warren and assortment of husbands, boyfriends and dads (fathers day!). If you haven’t tried this tour, it’s an absolute must this summer or fall!
I love meeting Boston photographers for sangria. I love hiking mountains with my Maine and New Hampshire friends. And tomorrow I’m off to a beautiful evening event with local Cape peeps.
Other than our obvious shared interest, I think the biggest part of why we’re all close is that we’re out there creating and evolving our own businesses. That’s a BIG deal, and it creates a very special bond. Perhaps it’s like parenting, where that shared passion really brings you together with others experiencing the same. Whatever it is, I can’t imagine doing this without such an amazing group of peers. Love you guys!
